Who should apply?
MTC students participate in the program for many reasons. The age rage is typically 17 and up, although younger students are sometimes accepted. Working professionals and college students join the program to extend, polish and maintain their existing skills. Aspiring performers with strong skills in one area will often participate in MTC to strengthen their experience in other disciplines. Younger students use the MTC experience to prepare for college or graduate school auditions, or to decide if Musical Theater is their career choice. MTC accepts students by audition and interview without regard to race, color, sexual orientation, religion or national origin.

Applications for the April 18 auditions must be received at NDNU by April 15, 2009. Applications for the May 16 auditions must be received at NDNU by May 13, 2009. We will send you a confirmation email giving you details about your scheduled audition as soon as we have received your application.

For your audition:Please prepare two contrasting songs, an up-tempo and a ballad, from the musical theatre repertoire, and a 1-minute monologue. An accompanist will be provided. Come to the audition with dance clothes, or clothing and shoes that will allow you to move easily for the dance audition. You will be taught a short dance combination by a member of the MTC dance faculty. If you tap, please bring your tap shoes as well.
